Major Changes Coming

There will be some upcoming changes to the blog. Due to a request I will be involved with two blogs. I will still have the Coach Duds blog, but will also be involved with the Drury Basketball blog. The DU blog will deal primarily with our basketball program. To some it may be boring, but to our true fans and followers it will be great. To our recruits it will allow them a behind the scenes type look into a national powerhouse basketball program. Don't worry kids the Coach Duds blog will still be running as strong as ever.

Finals Prediction
Lakers in 5. I tricked you all by waiting until after the first game to make my prediction. I needed to fill out the scouting report to make the call. I am calling 5 games, but more than likely it will be 6. Dwight Howard has no moves by the way. Derek Fisher is becoming a dirty player as he ages. I don't know how many of you noticed but late in the 4th, he blatantly showed Howard in the back going up for a rebound. Hedo, you are not Vlade Divac, stop flopping up shots. Kobe was pissed that JJ Reddick was guarding him. Give JJ some credit he did not back down and dude can flat out stroke it, very similar to Kenyon Martin. Go Thug-etts! I have a love-hate relationship with Kobe. Great player, but big time drama queen. His footwork is tremendous. One of my theories of teaching the game of basketball, coaches should never break down guards and posts until college. Everyone should practice post moves, all the time. Luke Walton has the best tattoo in the league. The Walton family tat is classic. Mark Jackson might be the best color analyst in the game right now. His calling "Momma there goes that man," is awesome. Do your thing Markie Mark. Stan Van Gundy is great when he is wired. I love the pregame and halftime speeches. He may be in your face, but I think his players really believe he cares about them. He knows when to get on them and when to back off, that is hard to learn for some coaches. I love it Coach Van Gundy.

French Open
I am not sure about the great one finally winning the French. I hope that Roger completes his journey but it will be hard. And I can hear the media questions now, "But Roger you did not beat Nadal, does that take away from your title?" What is that? If they ask him, after he wins the title, I now think he will, he should just tell them he is giving back the title. Come on Roger. The dude has great hair by the way.

Fish Story
Our fish, Champ, knows his name. My wife thinks it is not possible. However when I yell his name he comes right to the top. Champ is tough as nails. The wife tries to kill him by not changing the water and sometimes you can not see him due to the murkiness, but he is a soldier. A soldier, I got your back Kellen Winslow. Hahaha, what an interview. My question to you, can a fish know his name? Any thoughts?

Recipe Tip
For you guys who love to grill, try Worcester sauce and lemon juice on everything. The wife will love it. In our house we don't use lemon juice, we use Lemons juice!

Quote of the Day
Courage is the force that creates history. Remember to scroll down to the bottom of the page for a daily sports quote.

Belmont Stakes
Mine that Bird will win. I need him to win. I want to hear Calvin Borel talk again, but props to him, his wifey is nice. Great pull by you Calvin.

Shout out to Josh Clark who is fully engaged in an internship with ATTACK Athletics in Chicago. Tim Grover the trainer for Air Jordan runs the facility for NBA guys and Clark is working there this summer. JC is working with the best of the best. Nice work, by the way I never lost to Monticello!

A thank you to Horsy for making the journey to Springfield for a short visit. Dude is a class act and a great friend.

Congrats to Coach Landon Kurz. Mr. Kurz recently accepted an offer to become the men's basketball graduate assistant at Central Missouri University. A great step for young Kurz. Good luck, play hard.

Enjoy the weekend. Peace, love and happiness
Coach Duds
